SOME BACKGROUND ON PRIMATE VS. PIRATE:
We begin with a name that is two names offered together in opposition: Primate. Pirate. (this is enough I think all-so to imply a Poet.) Primate is the animal of the human. Pirate is the human of the outlaw—or, more to it, the outrider. Part beast, part unhinge-able thing: what makes its way with the lilies & the birds and wants for nothing in abundance of the god-given. What makes its way overocean with privateer’s papers saying “you may take from whichever & it concerns us not what you do with the spoils, so long as there be spoils.”
It is thus for Pirates: the Meddles.
It is thus for Primates: a life at ease.
With attention to the un-Name-ing of the birds, in a cosmically (geologically) scaled Time, through the works & insights of Others, … well then, so far at least…
It is thus for the Primate: a banana.
It is thus for the Pirate: Plantains.
